us vs. hunger

this is me. this is what i eat.

  • these are the foods.

  • these are the meals.

  • these are my friends.

this is me

i’m ernie. i live in a small suburban town in central jersey. in my spare time i manage a movie theatre. most of my time is spent with my wife sarah (a teacher, by the way), browsing the internet for things i’d like to purchase, purchasing those things, working on various musical projects, and of course eating.

so i guess i can add blogging to that list. this is my first blog, not counting my infrequent entries on various myspace pages. i never quite understood the blog concept, mostly due to the incomprehensible number of “live journal” type blogs i used every effort to avoid. but a blog with a purpose, now that’s something i can get behind.

in a nutshell, the purpose of this blog is to chronicle my eating antics, from big to small, from delicious to repugnant, from fancy to schmancy to boring to blasé. and there’s nothing more to say about that.

i guess that really isn’t much of a purpose. at the very least it’s interesting. i hope.

really the purpose is to showcase my lifestyle in the form of eating habits. i find it interesting myself, the sharp contrasts between some more intricate dishes prepared by my wife and i paired with the almost ridiculous 5 minute meals and on-the-go snack that i can’t seem to avoid. that, to me, is the humor. food blogs are fun and educational and great, but they fail to capture the realness of my culinary existence. hopefully these pages and posts will give an idea of what that’s really like.

check back often, and please leave comments.
